History
Since the1960’s, Hampton Eye has set the standard for delivering the highest quality eye care on eastern Long Island. The founders of Hampton Eye were illustrious names in the field of ophthalmology. In 1944, R. Townley Paton, M.D. established the first eye-bank, the Eye Bank for Sight Restoration, in New York City. Nathaniel R. Bronson, M.D. was one of the pioneers in the development of diagnostic ultrasound. Richard G. Lennon, M.D. joined the practice in the early 1970’s. He was one of the first ophthalmologists to use laser for the treatment of retinal disease. The physicians of Hampton Eye are proud to carry on this tradition by being at the forefront of ophthalmic care.
